Bid Number : 114-FF02  Opening Date : 10/19/2006
Bid Title : Custodial Cleaning Equipment
Buyer : R. Tyndall
Subject : Question
Question : 1) Why is "equipment to be delivered, unpacked, and demonstrated"? This also brings added expense to the School Board. It is also a little dangerous to deliver out of box. Safety and protection of the equipment is a concern here. This could also be worded in a way that will satisfy your concerns and be a bit more cost effective. Besides, all battery equipment, after delivery, is set up, demonstrated and trained on maintenance and operations. This is required on this type of equipment. 2) Why is the cost of pick up and delivery for warranty items included in the bid? This increases cost?
Answer : 1) The bid does not require that the equipment be delivered "out of the box". The equipment may be delivered and unpacked at the delivery site by the vendor. Demonstrations are upon request. See Special Condition #12. 2) Specifications and District requirements are developed partially through recommendations received via the Custodial Committee and input from end users. The District does not want to incur any additional expenses, including pick up and delivery charges for defective equipment that may be covered under a warranty agreement.
