Subject : Questions on Juice Bars- Item 19

Question : I have three questions regarding Item 19, which was added by addendum 1 to Bid # 112FF03. This item calls for a juice bar with a 3/4 cup of fruit component. The past bid (084-DD03) called for a 3/8 cup of fruit. The approved vendor does not make a juice bar containing ¾ cup fruit. 1) Which amount is correct, 3/8 cup of fruit or 3/4 cup of fruit? 2) Additionally, the juice bars, which are now item 19, are scheduled to be awarded with items 3-19. In the past, the juice bars were always a separate award item and were usually bid directly by the manufacturers. Should the juice bars be bid separate or together with the ice cream items? 3) Will item 19 be added to bid # 088EE03? There are High Schools that sell ala-carte juice bars. Thank you for your time and help in this matter.

Answer : Thank you for your questions. The responses are in order as follows: 1) The specification to the fruit content will be revised to Item 19 in a forthcoming addendum. In addition, there will be a change of the opening date to this bid due to the timing of the addendum. 2) Item 19 is to be bidded with the other items in the FROZEN TREATS category by one bidder. Attachment JV (Joint Venture) can be used if two entities wish to bid on the entire bid package together as one bidder. 3) Item 19 is not intended to be added to Bid#088-EE03 (A-LA-CARTE PROGRAM). However, the A-LA-CARTE PROGRAM bid package does have the ability in the special conditions document to add additional items, as needed during the course of the contract period.

Question : I just came from Downtown to turn in this bid and saw a sign posted that the bid was postponed until next Tuesday 06-27-06 at 2pm... is this correct?

Answer : Yes, the 112-FF03 Bid opening date is being changed. Please check the procurement website at http://procurement.dadeschools.net/bidsol/asp/ENACT.asp later this afternoon to view the change in bid date and related addendum. DO NOT FORGET TO DOWNLOAD ALL INFORMATION INCLUDING THE REVISED FORMAT B EXCEL SPREADSHEET (Items on Bid) and include all documents and addendum information coversheets with your bid proposal.
