Q1. Please provide some details of the required features of variable billing and payment system.
Answer
:
Variable billing and payment allows these functions to be flexibly implemented and not directly tied to a course registration for a student. This type of system would not force constraints on a treasurer in regards to how payments are applied and automatically reconcile accounts based on batch transactions. For example, a payment is received for $500 from a sponsoring agency for a group of students – a fixed system would require individually posting each detail amount to each student registration record. A variable system would allow parameters to be supplied that automatically recognize how the payment should be applied.

If new data requirements emerge, District would like the ability to customize tables, queries and/or reports without contracting with vendor for additional programming work. In other words, the system itself must have capabilities for a user (with administrative privileges) to add custom fields, create custom queries and/or reports.
