Question : I reviewed the bid on the trash can liners and had a question regarding the minimum order for each bag. For example, item #1, the 43x52 3 mil bag, says that the minimum order is 500 cases (towards the bottom). Does that mean that every time an order is placed, the order is a minimum of 500 cases?

Question : Question 1. Can we submit more than one quote (one with desired timelines of 30 and another with 60 days)? Will the bid with 60 days ARO delivery timelines be considered? Question 2. Have the bid items been purchased in past, if you request you to provide the last award tabulation of previous purchase price ? Question 3. Is there any mandatory state/school/agency registration we have to do as bidder to qualify as bidder or award ?  
Answer : Answer 1. Any bids that changes the terms and conditions as stated will be ruled non-responsive and will not be considered. Answer 2. The previous award information is listed on the Procurement web site where the bid was downloaded in the Q&A column at: http://procurement.dadeschools.net/bidsol/asp/bid_portal.htm Answer 3. There is not any registration necessary to submit a bid, however a vendor application must be completed prior to being awarded any business. Question : When a purchase order is issued how long do we have to complete the delivery? Will we be notified of the purchase order by e-mail?  
Answer : A minimum of 30 days will be allowed per bid special conditions, however, lead time could be longer. At the present time, purchase orders are mailed or faxed, however the district is moving towards electronic delivery after January, 2010.

Question : Question - 1. Recycled resins ok to use. This would make us a lot more competitive. 2. Tensile strength, we currently perform two directions. MD and CD. which is the requirement? 3. Star seal looks to be ok except the compactor bag. Can that be star sealed?  
Answer : 1- Recycled Resins are welcomed as long as the product complies with all minimum specifications and requirements. 2- The tensile strength at Break is measured at Machine Direction - MD. 3- The specification requires flat seamed.

Answer : No, M-DCPS cannot provide samples. Vendors need to submit bids based on specifications listed in the bid.

Question : ITEM #1 - DID YOU ALL CHANGE THE SPEC ON THIS ITEM - COMPARED TO WHAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY USING? WIRE TIES... ARE THESE TWIST TIES? DOES IT MATTER IF THEY ARE IN A POLY BAG INSIDE THE CASE OR LOOSE?  
Answer : There may have been minor changes to the specifications but they are basically the same. The wire ties are the same as twist ties and may be loose or in a poly bag as long as they are packed inside the master case of can liners.

Question : Several manufacturers we represent feel they can offer competitive pricing. Although we feel confident their samples will meet the required specifications, we want to keep our options open. How can we offer separate bids with different manufacturers? Can we note different manufactures on the bid sheets or should we submit separate price pages for each manufacturer? Please feel free to contact us if any additional information is needed. Answer : You may do it either way as long as it is can be determined which price corresponds to which manufacturer.

Question : Special Conditions 1. Purpose states term of bid shall be for two years from the date of award.....All prices shall be firm for the term specified in the contract. Special Conditions 4. Award of Bid states Award of bid will be made to a primary and two alternate vendors offering the lowest price for each item meeting specifications for the initial six month period. After the initial six month period expires , each awarded vendor will be requested to submit quotes during the remaining six months terms of the contract. My questions is: for what period of time must we guarantee to hold the initial pricing we submit? Two years or six months from date of award?  
Answer : Prices submitted on the bid form must remain firm for six months from the time of award. It is expected that this bid will be awarded and take effect in February, 2010 so pricing must remain firm for six months from that date.
