Question : (1) My office is in Ft. Lauderdale and my warehouse is in Dade (Miami Gardens). On my last bid I was disqualified because it was for local business only. Is this bid for local business only? (2) I would like to have products pre-approved for certain bids such as janitorial chemicals and trash bags. I currently supply bags for Broward County and Port Everglades as well as chemicals for the Transit systems. What is the procedure?  
Answer : (1) There is no requirement in this bid that a vendor has to be "local". (2)Custodial products are not pre-approved by M-DCPS. Products are approved through the bid process. Vendors bidding alternates to previously approved items are required to submit samples as stated in Special Condition #8 of the current bid. Samples are then evaluated and if satisfactory,the product will be added to the approved brands list.
