Bid Number : 075-FF03  Opening Date : 10/05/2006
Bid Title : ASSORTED NON-CARBONATED BEVERAGES
Buyer : R. Johnson
Subject : Equipment required to be submitted with bid items
Question : My company is evaluating an opportunity to bid on this solicitation. Please confirm that the bid is simply requesting pricing for products and that no equipment is required (e.g. coolers).
Answer : The Format B (Items on Bid) Excel Worksheet requires that bid item(s) be delivered to each school site. No equipment is required to be placed at the school site, as the bid items will be stored using equipment already in place in each cafeteria and/or production center. Please remember, bid items must be delivered to the school sites at the appropriate temperatures, as specified in the Special Conditions and Specification sections of the bid documents.

Subject : Refrigeration of juice products.
Question : Must all the juices for this solicitation be refrigerated (e.g. delivered in refrigerated trucks, refrigerated storage location)? May a juice product be shelf stable (e.g. item 12) until chilled and ready to drink?
Answer : Per Item #6 in Specifications as stated in this bid solicitation: Juice products are to be delivered in refrigerated trucks to destination sites in a liquid, unfrozen state at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperatures are to be visually taken and posted on a master sheet at least twice daily. An accurate, continuous recording temperature chart is a reasonable substitute, provided each room is so monitored.
