Question : Statement: “In the above mentioned bid, under the Specifications section, Vendor Requirements paragraph #15 mentions the words “subcontractor.” Under the terms of this contract the successful bidder must be IKECA, or other certified. “I would like to request an amendment that stipulates that if any winning bidder uses subcontractors to perform the hood and duct cleaning they must make certain each subcontractor is also certified by the organization recognized by the County, and such certifications must be submitted to the county for approval prior to the final award of this contract.”

Answer : District Response: Please see - Specifications, Vendor Requirements: Specifications #9, which states “All service personnel shall be certified by the International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association (IKECA) or other recognized certifying associations directly related to the process of exhaust hood cleaning and/or exhaust hood systems.” This specification requires ALL SERVICE PERSONNEL, either an employee or a subcontractor, of awarded vendor to be certified by IKECA or other recognized certifying associations directly related to the process of exhaust hood cleaning and/or exhaust hood systems.
