Question : In reading an addendum concerning this bid, the question was posed concerning the omission of the BUILDING D 1st floor print. The response was that it was intentionally omitted. With this omission, is the tie cable that is designated on the 2nd floor, floor plan, to be the tie cable going to the MDF, or is it the tie cable that would normally go to the 1st floor entrance IDF.

Question : On page E3.32 of the blue prints the Chiller Room is referred to as an IDF. There are only 1 voice and 1 data outlet noted on the plans for that area. Should we quote creating an IDF there with fiber, rack etc. or should we quote installing 2 CAT5E HE from the CHILLER ROOM outlets to the PE IDF Room 508 about 200 ft away?

Question : On Bid # 020-JJ04 Were in the addendum or original bid does it give the specific instructions for the Phase III-BCC Sample school as discussed in the pre-bid conference held on 10/29. Will this be a requirement to complete in order to become one of the ten prequalified vendors? Special Conditions #17 Bid Submittals does not appear to require the narrative, stick drawing, or specific pricing for the above referenced school plans that were referred to in the pre-bid meeting.  
Answer : Addendum Number 2 for 020-JJ04 will hopefully be posted today. Due to legal precedent handed down in the last week or so the language and structure of the bid has been changed. The language I drafted is being reviewed by our legal department. If need be, we may extend the bid opening date. In answer to your question: No.

Question : Im looking to submit a bid for the 020-JJ04 (Wiring, Telecommunications) contract, I notice that we have to submit an e-Rate Service Provider Number (SPIN)with our quote. What exactly is (SPIN)? How do I go about obtaining that information? Thanks  
Answer : There is a web-site mentioned under the e-rate clause in the special conditions that will help explain it.

Question : In looking over Addedum No. 2, addendum modifications Line Item # 3 states: all line items from the bid proposal form (Format B) have been deleted. With the addendum 2, only the technician classification page is attached. Does this indicate that an equipment list is no longer needed for the bid?  
Answer : Because of a legal precedent in Broward county that has just come down; we have been instructed to change the award language. This bid will know pre-qualify vendors, who will be contacted for bids on a needs basis. An addendum for 020-JJ04 has also been posted as well.

Question : 1.Install cat5e drop up to 100 meters as per EIA/TIA-568-B.2 Standards. Is this item Installation, Per Each requesting a LABOR ONLY price or does it request a price for a combination of Labor and Materials ?  
Answer : Yes. The scope of this line item is to Install and make operational 1 cat5e drop up to 100 meters as per EIA/TIA-568-B.2 Standards. Vendor shall assume wire will begin at nearest Telecom Closet and will be punched down on an existing spare port (vendor is not responsible for providing a patch panel). Wire is assumed to be supported by J hooks or hangers above ceiling grid and terminate in the same building (protectors are not required). Wire shall enter the terminating room via vendor installed metallic raceway secured to the wall by screwed in clips ( double stick tape is not an accepted means of securing racway to the wall). terminate at the station end on a surface mounted jack. Once complete, the entire drop will be tested and shall meet or exceed EIA/TIA specifications.
